Scenes and stories of everyday life in tribute to the writer Esteban Echeverría.
“When I was called to participate in the project, I immediately thought about the significance of the subway station as a place, an anonymous and temporary place, where the people also carries their own personal stories. In some of my paintings, I portrayed family scenes, where the people depicted are overlapping one another inside the same space –a place in which the past and the present articulates at the same time and maintains a connection with decorative shapes, like textures and ornaments. Other times, I paint more private scenes, for instance, a thoughtful child that is inside a plane of multiple color squares that covers the entire space.”
